Here are some ideas for how you might think about remixing curriculum using OER:

Easy

Medium
  • Create a multimedia presentation using open licensed video and audio. (Starting with a slideshow you've used in the past is an easy way to begin.)
  • Create your own open media set, and design an activity around it.
  • Remix a unit of curriculum that you've used in the past using open resources.
  • Have your students remix a unit of curriculum that you've used in the past using open resources.

Advanced
  • Make your own open licensed textbook with CK12.
  • Create your own textbook, online course, or other instructional resources using open content.
  • Have your students create their own textbook, online course, or other instructional resources using open content.
  • Remix one of the Common Core-aligned Play Youth Voices units for your students.
  • Publish and share your own original resource under an open license. (Curriki is a good place to to this.)
  • Create or remix an open professional development course.

Remember:
  • Provide lots of student options.
Make sure the content you are remixing is open licensed.
  • Attribute the source!
